Milan Jakubek became the new Head of Department of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University at BIOCEV
Doc. Ing. Milan Jakubek, Ph.D. is the Head of the Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry at BIOCEV. He focuses on medicinal chemistry from various angles - from the design of new pharmacophores, derivatives of natural substances or theranostics, their synthesis and subsequent testing of biological activity, to the pharmaceutical formulation of active substances.
He is the author or co-author of numerous publications in prestigious foreign journals and the originator of many Czech and international patents, including utility models. Milan Jakubek's cooperation with the commercial sector has resulted in successful application of the results of his work in practice.
The main goal of the new Head of Department is to contribute to the development of research activities, to cooperate with top foreign departments, to publish in prestigious journals and to involve students more. Milan Jakubek is taking over the position from Prof. Tomáš Stopka, M.D., Ph.D., Head of the Laboratory of Haematooncology and Stem Cells.
