
Technician / laboratory technician in microscopy laboratory
The Faculty of Science of Charles University is looking for a laboratory technician for the Imaging Methods Service Laboratory at the BIOCEV Science Centre
• Routine maintenance and operation of the laboratory
• Maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments
• Preparation of media, stock solutions, laboratory material and instruments
• Organization of safe sorting and disposal of laboratory waste (chemical, biohazard, GMO)
• Organization of sterilization of laboratory glassware
• Creation of relevant records and reports
• Inventory, ordering and restocking chemicals and consumables
• Technical assistance in the laboratory
• Assistance with other activities of the service laboratory (organization of courses, etc.)
• After training, assistance with the preparation of samples for microscopy, routine operation of instruments including microscopes, work with cell cultures, etc.
Requirements
• Secondary or University education in chemistry, biology, health care or similar fields
• Previous experience of working in the laboratory is an advantage, but not a necessity
• Proficiency in basic IT skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in Czech and English (both, written and verbal communication)
• Soft skills: excellent time-management; communication; reliability; diligent and systematic work

Position type: Full-time job (with a flexible but regular schedule). Initially one-year contract with a three-month trial period and the prospect of further extension.
