Dr. Jiří Kotek has held the position of Director of the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences since 2016. He studied materials engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. Jiří Kotek specializes in the relationships between mechanical behavior and the structure of polymeric materials. He is the author or co-author of more than seventy professional publications.
Jiří Kotek is a member of the Academy of Engineering of the Czech Republic and the Czech Chemical Society. He is the national representative of the Czech Republic in the European Polymer Federation (EPF). In February 2019, he was elected President of the EPF for the term 2020-2022.
